International Training Course: Expanding horizons - AntiBias in European Youth Work
Date: 23 -29 June 2014
Venue: European Youth Meeting and Education Center (EJBW) Weimar, GERMANY
Exploring multiple perspectives, investigating multiculturalism in youth work, reflecting biases in everyday work, shifting your prospective, discussing similarities and differences – all this is offered to you by the Training Course “Anti-Bias International”
The TC on Anti-Bias is aimed to introduce the Anti-Bias approach and create a multicultural space to master it both theoretically and practically. By raising awareness for various forms of discrimination through multicultural group work and application of the Anti-Bias reflection methods, we will actively deconstruct prejudices and glance deeper in our comprehension of the world. Our goal is to detect the often unconscious and mutually dependent biases - in ourselves, in society and in the environment we live in. Through arranging the exchange of professional and practical experience, we will consider conscious and critical discrimination strategies for our own youth work and life. Practical work experience and process- oriented group exercises, based on the principles and practices of non-formal education will familiarize us with the main points of the Anti-Bias approach.
A participation fee in the amount of 55 EUR per person is taken to cover expenses which are not covered by the grant. We will reimburse 70% of the travel costs for the TC on the basis of the cheapest possibilities, e.g. second class railway tickets, APEX-flights etc., accompanied by the receipt of complete and original tickets, invoices, bills, receipts, boarding cards etc.
